@MartytudeI don't have so much confidence on my memory, but "開通しました。SIMカードをご利用いただけます" instruction message may be played at the end of procedure, with success. Thank you.

@MartytudeYes, monthly 2GB/Data-only SIM costs 740yen per month, incl tax. If your smartphone/tablet/Wifi router supports eSIM, then the monthly fee goes down to 440yen per month. Thank you.

@MartytudeYodobashi is supposed to deal IIJmio coupon cards for the top-up, but I have no information which store including online store is actually dealing it. Kiosk terminal at convenience stores like Seven-Eleven, Family Mart, Lawson and Mini-Stop may be easy to access. Thank you.

@MartytudeThe minimum contract period is till the end day of the next month (so it means up to two months). You can freely cancel the contract after then, without any cancellation fee or similar penalty. Thank you.

@MartytudeOur Gigaplan doesn't require credit card issued in Japan, but the credit card with international brand VISA, Master, and AMEX. No debit card is acceptable. Gigaplan offers not only Data SIM but also Voice/Text/Dara SIM but Voice/Text capability requires ID verification by law.

@MartytudeThis IM-B347 is not a prepaid SIM but postpay SIM with contract. You must activate it before use on our web page, with registration of your personal information and credit card number for payment. Thank you.

@MartytudeFor example, if you activate your prepaid pack at Jan 1, the remain of 2GB initial data amount is anyhow expired at Apr 30. If you purchase and top up additional data amount in April, then the remain of it is abandoned at the end of July. Thank you.

@MartytudeFor your first question, yes. That works with Prepaid pack. For the second one, data amount both initial setup and charged by top-up is expired at the end day of the third following month, although SIM is continuously valid while you make top-up at least once for four months.

@MartytudeIt might be slightly inadequate for identifying the customer, but if our customer use the prepaid SIM for crime, I'm sorry if you feel upset to hear this, we can offer some important clues for its investigation, for example. Thank you.

@MartytudeYes, because international telephone calls are not able to dial Japanese toll-free number(0120). It can be dialed only from domestic fixed phones and domestic mobile phones. If you don't have your own phone, please use your school, office, dormitory etc phones alternatively.

@MartytudeNo, because Japanese public pay phone can not call to toll free number, beginning with 0120. Also, public pay phone is not appropriate because it is useless to identify the customer, the original purpose. We reject the activation request from unspecified phone number. Thank you.

@MartytudeThe number for activation is 0120-711-122(toll free). You cannot call from the prepaid SIM itself but from both fixed line or mobile phone. Press “1”, “1” just after connected, then phone number (電話番号), pass code (パスコード) which are both printed on the SIM. Thank you.

@DraMaguado@bic_simDon't you think using your phone number in other mobile operator? If no, then all cancellation procedure can be carried out online at iijmio.jp/customer/cance… . The cancellation is taking effect at the end day of the month, not instantaneously, then your number is lost. Thank you.

@MartytudeYes. If you continue to make top-ups, once for three months typically, then you can use the SIM without expiration. Please note that data amount itself is expired at the end day of the third following month of the top-up, even if the SIM can continuously work with another top-up.

@MartytudeAll activation process is done by using DTMF, the tone signal which sounds when user push the phone button. However all instruction on the phone call is in Japanese, I would instruct you how to push the button even if you can't understand the instruction. Thank you.

@MartytudeNo, you don't have to fill your phone number into web form or any other format. Just call to certain phone number for activation, use a button on the phone to input SIM number to specify the SIM, that's it. We make a record of the phone call, especially caller's phone number.

@someonebeniceWe have no unlimit plans in our service portfolio. Maybe your appropriate contact is printed on the brochure or leaflet handed with the SIM. Or simply contact SIM kiosk or SIM stand at the airport. Thank you.

@MartytudeAs I mentioned previously, two SIMs are slightly different, mainly at their activation method, expiration date setback, and operator name. Thank you.

  4. iijmio

@MartytudeIn this scenario, If you top up at April 30th, then the new expiration date sets at 31th July (three months later). If the top-up date is May 1st, then the new expiration date becomes 31th August as well. Is that OK for you?

  5. iijmio

    12月2日

@MartytudeFor example, when you activate the SIM at January 1st, then the initial expiration date is April 30th(third following month), even still you can top up the SIM until May 31st (fourth following month).

@MartytudeTwo SIMs are different type from each other. SIM in Prepaid pack displays 'docomo' as the operator name, while SIM in JTS shows 'IIJ' on the smartphone's screen. In terms of your second question, we simply records the caller number when user makes a phone call for activation.

@MartytudeIn the case of Prepaid pack, user can top up until the last day of the fourth following month from activation, it means one month from expiration date. After that, the SIM card is completely disabled and any top up will be no longer available. Thank you.

  2. iijmio

    12月2日

@MartytudeJTS requires user's passport number to identify users, while Prepaid pack requires domestic phone number instead. JTS doesn't extend its expiration when user tops up, while Prepaid pack extends its period for three months with top-up.
